Slack-ass

Why the hell have I been so lazy? It’s not like I’m never online, though I am online less, mostly because our wireless router hasn’t been working and I have to sit at the desk to get online. The past couple of weeks have been interesting, though.

My in-laws were in town which was nice. I enjoy hanging out with them when they visit and was kind of sad to see them leave. It was also nice just having people around to talk to. Since they left I’ve been hanging out with my neighbor. She’s 16 years old and has no life and likes just talking and being silly.. and LOVES Matthew. We do a lot of things together lately.

Last week I stepped on a rusty nail on my front porch. The owners of our house have been getting the siding done and apparently the contractor guy hadn’t been cleaning up after himself very well. That was fun mostly because Jeremiah freaked and called the paramedics who showed up to pull the nail out of my foot. I refused ambulance transport to the hospital but we still had to go so they could clean it out and give me a tetanus shot as well as some antibiotics since I’m diabetic. It’s all better now but it made for an uncomfortably sore few days.

Speaking of diabetic, my neighbor (the 16 year old’s mom) was just diagnosed with diabetes so I’ve been enjoying helping her with the lifestyle change. It’s also helped to motivate me to eat better and take care of myself. July 5th this year will be exactly 10 years since I was diagnosed!

Just a quickie!

Wanted to update about my weekend so far since I know I won’t remember everything on Tuesday after my in-laws are gone! It’s been really fun and I’ve actually enjoyed them being here. Most people dread their in-laws but I feel really lucky that I have (relatively) sane ones who are very accepting and decent. :)
Anyways.. We just hung around town yesterday and showed them the city. Today we went to the beach. I DID use sunscreen and DID reapply.. so I got a little tan on most of my body but wasn’t able to adequately apply onto my back and did get a very nice burn. I also think because I was using Jeremiah’s goggles and snorkle and was looking at the fish in the water so the sun was right on my back. Bummer. :(
Tomorrow I think we’re going to go find someplace better to snorkle and then who knows!

In-Laws

Tomorrow evening my in-laws will come into town to visit us. Well, they’re here more to visit Matthew but I’m sure they’ll at least say hi to us while we’re here. :P

So I’ve been cleaning all morning and I’ve finally been forced to sit down and relax while Matthew naps. I’ve got a few things left to do before they arrive but I can do most of it tomorrow. All I need to do tonight is steam clean the couch (already did the loveseat, chair and ottoman) and add water to the fish tanks. I need to pick up Matthew’s room and vacuum in there, vacuum our room and pick it up and then just do a final pick-up before they arrive tomorrow evening.

In the meantime I’m hoping to get Jeremiah to go to Lowe’s and look at carpet remnants. The rug we have in our living room is ugly and falling apart and you can only clean something SO MANY TIMES before it starts disintegrating, lol. :)

New yet again!

I didn’t like that last layout, and it was basically a ripoff of my spring layout (psh yeah, you noticed!) so I spent some time in photoshop and notepad today tinkering. I think I finally got it how I like it. As always any suggestions (or compliments *wink*) are welcome!

Today we went up to Super Walmart and got diapers, wipes, a few groceries and some other random things. Then we went to playgroup at the park on base for about an hour.. Matthew really enjoys going there so we couldn’t miss it. Since we were on base we went ahead and did our grocery shopping even though we don’t get paid until tomorrow. It saved us the gas of driving there again. Now I’ll get dinner started (homemade “Chipotle” burritos, yum!) and maybe finish the yard work in the back. :)

Memorial Day Greetings

Happy Memorial Day to the Soldiers, Marines, Airmen and Seamen that currently do and have served our country. A special Happy Memorial Day to the wives and children whom put up with their butts. :P

It was a nice three day weekend of having Jeremiah home, but I’m ready to get back to the schedule I’m used to. Of course it’ll be lonely without Brent here.. it’ll take some getting used to. We’re supposed to have a bit of rain this week but I’m really hoping playgroups don’t get canceled. We’ll at least make it to open gym on Friday which Matthew loves!

Oh, and I muted the colors a bit on the new layout. Hopefully it no longer burns your corneas. :)
