Ummmm I’m at a loss here

ummmm-im-at-a-loss-here

I can’t think of what to type, because the “CLACK CLACKING” of Angel’s keyboard is taking up all my brain space right now.

I could tell you all about kitchen lighting, and why a good chandelier is super important to have in any dining room. I could also tell you about all the dead bugs I should REALLY clean out of the lights in my kitchen.

Or I could tell you about how I enrolled Matthew in a Mother’s Day Out program today. :) We actually have an appointment tomorrow morning to tour the church he’ll be going to, and submit the actual papers and pay the start-up costs.. but I’m pretty excited already. It’ll be Tuesdays and Thursdays from 9-12.. It will give me some good ME time, allow me to take naps (YAY NAPS!) and get stuff done that I need to get done. Also, there’s the numerous benefits for Matthew! I will post more about it later, but just wanted to say, YAY! :)

Racism isn’t born, folks, it’s taught. I have a two-year-old son. You know what he hates? Naps! End of list.

racism-isnt-born-folks-its-taught-i-have-a-two-year-old-son-you-know-what-he-hates-naps-end-of-list

Today is my child free day. My mother in law is in town and stayed here last night, then took Matthew this morning. I’ve been excited about this day for the past week, but now I find myself sitting alone in my house, not knowing what to do. I am meeting a friend at 11:30 and we are going to go to the theater and see Inception, but then I don’t know what I’m doing the rest of the day, other than dinner and family time at my husband’s aunt’s house tonight. :)

I am catching up on Sunday’s episode of True Blood, then I’m going to go sit in front of my TV and watch last night’s episode of Teen Mom. I didn’t watch it last night out of respect for my mother in law, because even though it’s a fairly clean show, you never know! Lol. Also I spent last night trying to fix the wireless modem because it wasn’t working properly. That was annoying.

I am going to try to relax a bit and hopefully enjoy my time here by myself. I do already miss my buddy.. there is an eerie quietness. I almost feel like he’s upstairs napping or something, hehe.

It’s just annoying

its-just-annoying

One of the things that annoys me about the house we’re currently living in, is the lack of insulation. If I owned this house I would take way better care of it. I’ve already put up cellular shades and done some other things around here to make it more energy efficient since we’ve moved in, but there are way more things that need to be done. Besides just the energy efficiency, there are way more things that need done. The siding is literally crumbling off the side of the house! Some of the plumbing and electrical stuff has to just be a huge hazard. Honestly, we’re probably going to start looking at buying a house here. At least, if we find out for sure that he’s got only 2 years left in, we’ll probably look at moving once our lease is up in February. I can’t wait!

New-ish

new-ish

I edited the theme Angel had made for me a while back. I just changed the header and colors. I’m still going to change some stuff around, but feel free to tell me what you think!

For now I need to run to the store and get some more dog food to put Josie’s medication in (Oh, I should update about all of that, LOL). But yeah, I’ll post later. Comment and let me know what you think of the change. :)

With sufficient thrust, pigs fly just fine.

with-sufficient-thrust-pigs-fly-just-fine

So the last week hasn’t been too interesting, hence the lack of blog updates. Honestly, I can’t think of one thing we did that is worth telling the world about. Really though, what’s new? If you’re reading this, it’s probably because we’re either related or you’re under some false impression that I’m awesome. I mean, I know the vibes I give off are of pure awesomeness, but underneath all that is just some awkward and tall geeky white girl.

Yesterday I got an e-mail from my hubby telling me a lady from our church posted on Facebook that she was selling her dining room table and china cabinet. He sent me the pictures and asked me if I wanted them. I was surprised, to be honest! He’s known that I’ve wanted a new dining table for a long time, but we never went actively looking for one. Truth is, to get something like we wanted, we would have had to spend too much money. Well, she was selling them for super cheap, so I was skeptical at first.. thinking they must not be as nice as they looked in the pictures. Boy, was I wrong! I got there and they are in AMAZING condition. The table has some normal wear (a few scratches and such.. nothing that’s even noticeable unless you’re looking for it) but the china cabinet is PERFECT. PURR. FECT. I was stunned. SO, we bought them and made the 5 mile journey from their house by taking the access road and going 30mph the whole way! We only had to stop to tighten the ropes once. :)

At the end of the day, here is our new dining area. It still needs to be cleaned up, and I already removed the Krispy Kreme calendar (don’t worry hunny, I didn’t throw it away!).

I am in love with it. I’ve already sold our dining table, and someone came by earlier today to look at the buffet, said she LOVED it and was going to come by tomorrow with a truck to move it to her house. If I sell the buffet, I will come up with $10 less than we spent on the new stuff. Oh, I forgot to mention that table does have two extensions to made it longer, and has six chairs total. I just have it set up small with the four chairs in the picture. :)

So today was a good day! Tomorrow I think I will relax (seriously, the workout from moving furniture PLUS the gym this morning.. I am in PAIN!) and enjoy some time with Matthew! Tonight, I’m going to bed!

Coupon Chief

If you’re anything like me, you LOVE bargains. I am constantly in search of new ideas to save money. After all, being a stay at home mom raising a toddler, I will take any savings I can get! Recently I stumbled upon CouponChief.com. Often when purchasing anything online, I do a last minute “Google” to make sure I’ve saved every cent I can. For example, if purchasing something on Target.com, I will get to the last page of my order, and do a quick search for “Target.com coupons”. This will usually yield a few results. Sometimes it’s hard to decipher the bad from the good and I end up trying 5-10 codes before finding that 10% off clearance items.

Coupon Chief has solved that problem, because it is essentially a huge vault of online coupon codes. Here’s where they stand apart from the rest of them; CouponChief.com has brought incentives to the coupon sharing business! Where on other websites, users simply submit codes and you just have to hope they work, Coupon Chief users actually gain a profit from submitting valid codes. Say you submit a code to the website for 10% off your WalMart.com purchase. For every user who successfully uses your coupon, you get 2% of the sales! Now, you’re saving money by using the coupons submitted by other users, and you’re also making money every time a user checks out and successfully uses a coupon you’ve submitted. It doesn’t get better than that!

Along with the benefits listed about, there is a super useful feature on Coupon Chief that shows the trust level of the user. For example, if the user has a history of submitting bad coupons, they will have a red dot next to their name. You can get 1 of 9 ratings, from Terrible to Very Good. This comes in handy so that you’re not wasting your time!

Like I said, if you like saving money like me, Coupon Chief is something you definitely have to check out. I just spotted a 20% off coupon for one of my favorite websites, Sierra Trading Post, so I think I’ll head over there myself and check out the deals. I’ll also add in that it’s worth it to check out “Featured Deals” on the front page throughout the day. They feature new and great deals so you never know what you’ll actually find! If you sign up on this website, let me know what kind of deals you find! I am always up for something new. :)

Backyard Stuffs

backyard-stuffs

I want so badly to make our back yard super nice. We already have some patio furniture (a three-piece set made with nice wrought iron) and a really nice grill. We keep everything in shape with patio furniture covers so it always looks nice. The problem is, our back porch is a small concrete slab. This is another of the things I would change if we owned this house. I’d love to have a bigger patio that I could put some nice potted plants and some decor. Also, I’d love to build Matthew a sandbox, and put some sort of perimeter around his swing set with some of that rubber mulch stuff.

OH the places we could go (Like.. Lowes, LOL)

I want to work!

i-want-to-work

It is so hard to find work when you have a child. There’s a ton of retail jobs I can take, but that’s when child care gets complicated because you have to work pretty regular shifts, preferably all daytime since there is not many options available for evening child care. Then there’s finding a job where you make more money than you actually pay for child care. I know so many people are single parents who work.. how do they afford it with a young child? In a couple of years, Matthew will be in school full time and it’ll be so much easier. Until then, I guess I’m stuck.

Times like these make me jealous of people who have it all. Maybe they don’t have it all.. I doubt they have loose diamonds covering their bed sheets, but those who are able to work on their own terms, and/or make more than sufficient money to support their family and live comfortably as well. We live semi-comfortably, but we wouldn’t be if we were trying to pay off our debt faster. We don’t really have a lot of debt, but we owe more than we should on both of our cars since the one, we’ve only had 1 1/2 years, and the other car had some negative equity rolled into the loan.

I don’t know what my problem is, but I know it’s hard to pronounce.

i-dont-know-what-my-problem-is-but-i-know-its-hard-to-pronounce

I can’t even think back and remember what I’ve been doing the last couple of days. I haven’t been *too* busy, but I’ve been occupied. That makes no sense. Hrm. Yesterday I had to force myself to drive to base, since I’d finally run out of insulin. They have a pharmacy refill service IN THE COMMISSARY. You will have no idea how important this is unless you’re military/dependent and take a lot of medications, LOL. SOOO convenient. I hadn’t made the drive to the base very often since we moved here, but I think next paycheck I am going to the commissary for groceries. The only downside is there’s a LOT of old people here, because it’s a prime area for retired Air Force folks. Not that I’m hating on old people or anything.. they’re just.. in my way! Haha that’s terrible. Someone slap me.

Tomorrow, the weather is going to determine our plans. I was going to finally take Matthew to the zoo, but now they’re talking THUNDERSTORMS. Can you believe it? On my ZOO day? Ruuuude. So we’ll see what it looks like when we get up. I really wanted to take him!

On Monday I took Matthew to get his hair cut. In Jeremiah’s words “He looks like a girl!”, which he didn’t, but we can’t have any hints of non-masculinity. :) I took him to a ghetto place first, since it’s cheaper, and we ended up leaving. Too ghetto for me. Am I noticing a trend? I get pickier and more judgmental every day.. I should stop that. Anyways, we went back to our expensive high-class place that I totally love, and Matthew was SO good. He’s such a cutie-pie!

Yes, cutest child ever!! I am going to go turn off the cartoons and make my child go play outside, because honestly, I’m getting tired of hearing about this “Mister Noodle”. :)

Need to get back on track..

need-to-get-back-on-track

I’ve been kind of bad about taking my medications lately. None of the ones I’m on are super important, though I do need to get back to taking them daily. Ever since I went off of my birth control pill (which I did only because there’s no point in me taking it when my husband isn’t here) I’ve been slacking on taking my other stuff. I have my kidney pills, which I either take like every other day or I pop one in the evening when I realize I’ve forgotten, my metformin which helps with my blood sugar control, and my one a day vitamin.

I know, I need to get back to taking them. I think I will put them here on my computer desk.. then I’ll remember! Hehe.
