We’ve been waiting WEEKS to make it public, and now that I’ve told all family and friends I can say it here on a public website.. I AM PREGNANT!

This image was from a week ago, at 12w4d. Now I’m about 13w5d. Tentative due date is July 1st but of course they like to induce diabetics for health and safety reasons so that can always change. We’re very excited and can’t wait to watch our baby grow! :)

Did anyone do any customized gifts for family and friends this year? I saw a few people on facebook who got blankets with pictures or their names on it, or mugs with custom sayings. I even saw one guy who got a few custom lapel pins because he collects them. I think it’s cool that nowadays you can get basically anything done anyway you want it. I think I’d much prefer a thought out gift like that than a basic whatever that everyone got from the mall.

It’s hard to think about swimming now since it’s like, 30-something degrees outside, but I can’t wait for the summer when it’s time to hop in! I’m hoping we find a good pool to use. We have a YMCA membership but the pool at ours is lame and more for little kids, so I’d like to find something we can actually swim in. One of my friends here has a huge pool and wants us to come over to swim at least once a week. I think that’ll be great!

We used to have a little tiny pool when we lived in Florida. We bought it at the exchange on base but we had so many issues with keeping it clean and using it enough to justify keeping it. We had bought it a Pool Cover but decided less than a week later to just return it because it wasn’t getting used enough.

I can’t wait, though. Now that Matthew’s getting older I want him to get in the pool more. He did so great last summer!

It’s not that I shop for many people, but it still takes me a while to decide what I’m actually going to get everyone. Matthew’s presents have been purchased for a while since we went out on Black Friday when we were in Florida. Today I finished up by going to Cabela’s and Target for Jeremiah’s last couple of little gifts and now I’m done! I can’t wait to post about what I got him, but since he reads this site.. (sorry!)

I didn’t get him anything super cool or anything he’ll be doing a dance over, but I like that I actually thought about what to get him and then got him a few extra things I think he’ll like. I have a little bit of work to do tomorrow on one of the gifts and then I’ll be 100% finished.

My mom is getting what she asked for.. 3 CDs she doesn’t have and wants to have. She’s old school and listens to discs in her car rather than using an MP3 player. :P She does have an MP3 player, she just doesn’t really use it.

As for the site, like the new look? Ashley over at AccordingToAshley.net made it for me and finally sent it over a few days ago. I love it and it’s nice to have a non-premade layout for once, even if I didn’t make it myself. :)

We definitely need to go soon. We tend to go there ridiculously often, since we just went a few days ago to buy wood to expand our DVD shelf and some other items. Then we were there a few days before that for Christmas garb. :)

There’s just a few things we need to pick up once we look at our budget. I know we need soaker hoses for the foundation, as well as another braided metal hose for our front yard. We have one in the back and I LOVE it, but the one in front is just a cheapo rubber hose that has all kinds of kinks and knots in it. I use that one the most, too, so I definitely need something of quality out there.

We also need to get some grout to fix up some of the tile in our house, as well as spackle and paint to fix some cracks. Our foundation has shifted a bit (which is common in this area) so you have to maintain as you go. :)

A few weeks ago we drove to Mineral Wells State Park and did a little trail walking. It was nothing crazy, as we brought Matthew and both dogs, but it was good to get out, the weather was nice and the park was beautiful. It definitely didn’t look like what I expected, though I’m not sure what I expected. All I know is that we sure need some more hiking stuff if we’re going to do that more often. I need some different shoes (I have great trail shoes, but when we were climbing up rocks I could feel the sharp points stabbing into my foot, lol) and I’ve been looking at dakine backpacks at RockyMountainTrail.com .. I need something better so that I can pack smarter. I should be bringing plenty of medical supplies including candy bars and my emergency kit. I’d hate to have something happen in the middle of nowhere. Also, it’d be nice to have something to carry a few other things in, such as sandwiches, extra bottles of water and the camera.
