Today, Matthew and I had a play date with the play group that I am a part of here. One of the girls has a niiiceee pool in her backyard, so she hosts bi-monthly meetups at her house in the summer. It’s awesome. We had so much fun today.. Matthew LOVED swimming, though he was using double floaty devices, haha. I really wish we had a pool, but obviously that isn’t going to happen. I’d be in it every day!

One of the girls there brought her tiny little baby girl and had her in one of those cradle floaty things. She was just adorable. I want another baby so bad, but who knows if my body could ever handle it. I’d probably have to take progesterone supplements and all sorts of other stuff.

I’m *SO* worn out from the pool today, so I’m going to finish up dinner and probably relax and watch a movie tonight. Hope everyone had a great weekend!!

We were invited by our neighbor to go to her in-law’s lake house today. Of course, we took her up on the offer. A day out of the house, in the sunshine, out by a lake? UMM, TIE MY HANDS BEHIND MY BACK, WHY DON’T YOU? We bought more sunscreen today, so hopefully I’m not a doofus in terms of allowing myself to get burnt. She said there’s a lot of shade so I should be okay. Though, I doubt I’d complain if my awkward tan evened out a little bit.

I am hoping to take a ton of pictures if we’re not too busy. We have the olympus to bring, which is waterproof and shockproof. I wasn’t super ecstatic when we bought it last year, but it’s sure come in handy at times where we wouldn’t have brought any of our other cameras with us, for fear of getting them wet, them breaking, etc.

I took the dogs on a 2.4 mile walk this morning, and basically dragged them into the house when we got back, so they should be cool in their crates for a few hours I would think. Normally we might bring Toby, but Ellie (the husky) can’t be trusted off leash, and the only enclosure they have is a short chain link fence. So, today, they will stay home and rest. Hope to post again soon with pictures!! :) Have a great Memorial Day weekend!

I need more ideas for diets. I want to look up more information, on the internet and in books. I looked at the bookstore tonight and flipped through a few things. I think if you are going to modify your lifestyle you should be educated on the topic completely. I’m even considering looking at hgh reviews to see what people thought about them. I’m talking legitimate reviews of course, not just the websites selling them. Though they always have a lot of good information as well. :)

One upside to the house we bought is that it has a sprinkler system! While it doesn’t have anything fancy, and I don’t think it’s a goulds pump, it works, has a timer and if effective enough for our needs. No more having to run out and re-position the sprinkler or making sure all the areas of the yard got watered. It’s easier and just way more convenient than having to use a hose for watering your lawn!

I realize I haven’t mentioned it before, but my mom is actually coming to live with us in less than two weeks! I am so excited to spend more time with her, and see her more than once every year or so. She moved to Oregon years ago after I left the nest, and fell upon some hard times, and now we finally convinced her that she should move back to Texas and be with more of her family! She’s seen Matthew, three times I think, since he was born. Not acceptable! Now she’ll be living in our city and seeing him ALL THE TIME! I am just so excited for Matthew to have his grandma, and for her to have him, and us. Plus, I miss my mommy. We were always (and still are, other than geographically) very close and I sure do miss having her around.

She’ll be making the trek by herself, though she’s got a few places to stop in between. Hey, it pays to have family and friends scattered around the country! :P I know she’s got insurance for the drive, and decent insurance in general.. which is really important. I really think people don’t take insurance seriously enough.. but you should, just check out somewhere like www.wholesaleinsurance.net.. paying a little bit per year to protect yourself and your belongings? Totally worth it. Of course, hopefully she has no issues with the drive and the vehicles, her, and her belongings will all make it in one piece. :)

I can’t wait!

So I didn’t really mention I was disappearing for a week. :P

I went to San Antonio for a mini-vacation, sort of. I brought Matthew with me so I didn’t really get time off, also he slept from 10 or 11pm to 6am the whole time I was gone, but I enjoyed myself and I miss that city. For the people in it, mostly, no longer really for the city itself.

I got back on Thursday and I’ve been spending time with Jeremiah and his cousin who is in town until tomorrow. Matthew is currently on the floor with her building puzzles. :)

I will try to get a better update in tomorrow or Monday, hopefully with something more interesting. Also, it’s 6pm Jerusalem time… apparently you’ve been left behind if you’re reading this! :X

I went to IKEA when I was visiting my sister the other day, and I was very disappointed when I went to use their restroom and they did not have the same hand dryers that they do in the IKEA closer to us. At the IKEA in Frisco, they have the fancy dyson dryers.. the ones where you insert your hands downwards into this little U-shaped device and the air it pushes out is SO STRONG it feels like it’s sucking the water off your hands. They’re incredible! But, I was let down when we went to IKEA Round Rock and they just had plain-jane dryers. Don’t get me wrong, they half-dried my hands just fine, but I would have preferred a full hand water vacuuming. Maybe it’s a pilot program.. like.. let’s see how many more people wash their hands when they get to play with the cool driers.

*LE SIGH*

I do not have a full closet. In fact, any typical girl that walks into my closet would be ashamed. Half a rack of clothing (which includes jackets, old maternity clothes, etc.) and maybe 3 or 4 pairs of shoes. That’s just how I am. I don’t have a ton of clothes and I’m okay with that. In fact, I own one purse. Okay, two.. only because the one I actually made myself. I don’t use it, because it’s ugly, but I’m made it and I’m proud. It really belongs in my “project” bin more than it does in my closet, but I’ll let it stay for now.

I just don’t need a lot of stuff. If I was rich, I’m sure I’d have much more stuff, and if I was super skinny, I’m sure I’d like shopping a little bit more, but for now.. I’m content with what I have. :P

What tips or ideas do you have for file organizing? We have a two drawer file that’s SO stuffed full of paperwork. Bills, Rental Agreements, Warranty Paperwork, Auto Loan papers, Mortgage papers.. it’s full to the brim. In fact, I think that’s an understatement. We’ve considered either getting an external solid state hard-drive to scan all our files on to (though that will cost upwards of $300 – those things are expensive!!) or we’ve considered something like RoaylImaging.com document management solutions.

Have you ever used a service like this, or does anyone have one of those things where it automatically scans and organizes everything for you? I’m curious as to how you liked the idea once you took on the project. :)

What have I done? I wish I could run
Away from this ship goin’ under
Just tryin’ to help, hurt everyone else
Now I feel the weight of the world is
On my shoulders
What can you do when your good isn’t good enough?
When all that you touch tumbles down?
‘Cause my best intentions keep making a mess of things
I just wanna fix it somehow
But how many times will it take?
Oh, how many times will it take for me?
To get it right
To get it ri-igh-ight
Can I start again with my faith shaken?
‘Cause I can’t go back and undo this
I just have to stay and face my mistakes
But if I get stronger and wiser
I’ll get through this
What can you do when your good isn’t good enough?
When all that you touch tumbles down?
‘Cause my best intentions keep making a mess of things
I just wanna fix it somehow
But how many times will it take?
Oh, how many times will it take for me?
To get it right
So I throw up my fist
Throw a punch in the air
And accept the truth that sometimes life isn’t fair
Yeah, I’ll send down a wish
Yeah, I’ll send up a prayer
And finally, someone will see
How much I care!
What can you do when your good isn’t good enough?
When all that you touch tumbles down?
‘Cause my best intentions keep making a mess of things
I just wanna fix it somehow
But how many it times will it take?
Oh, how many times will it take for me?
To get it right
